A closer look at some of the driveways and patios we've built for homeowners across KentEssexEast Sussex: what they asked for, what we did, and what they thought.

The Brief
A cracked concrete drive in front of a large family home, with water pooling by the garage every time it rained.
What We Did
- Broke out and removed the old concrete
- Built a compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base with a fall away from the house
- Laid grey blocks in herringbone with sweeping red block banding
Our old cracked concrete drive is now a beautiful block paved driveway with a contrasting border. The team turned up on time every day, kept the road clean and finished a day early.

The Brief
A tired tarmac drive with no legal access from the road, and the owners wanted a smooth, low-maintenance finish.
What We Did
- Handled the dropped kerb application with the council
- Laid a UV-stable resin-bound surface over the sound existing base
- Fully permeable, so no extra drainage was needed
We went for a resin-bound driveway and couldn't be happier. They sorted the dropped kerb application for us too, which took all the stress out of it. Honest, tidy and fairly priced.
Porcelain Patio & Gravel Driveway

- Area
- 52 m² patio

The Brief
A sloping back garden the family couldn't use, and a gravel drive at the front that rutted under the car.
What We Did
- Cut a level, sunken patio with a curved stone retaining wall
- Laid porcelain slabs on a full mortar bed
- Relaid the front drive over gravel grids to stop the rutting
New porcelain patio and a gravel driveway with grids, so no more ruts. The quote was clear with no surprises, and the finish is spot on. We've already recommended them to the neighbours.
Gravel Driveway With Grids

- Area
- 140 m²

The Brief
A long rural driveway where loose stone kept spreading onto the lawn and the lane.
What We Did
- Laid a weed-suppressing membrane over a compacted base
- Installed honeycomb gravel grids along the full length
- Finished with timber edging to keep the stone contained
Our gravel drive used to end up all over the lawn and the lane. Since they put the grids in it hasn't moved, even with the tractor coming through. Great lads, and they left the place spotless.
Tarmac Driveway & Kerb Edging
- Surface
- Tarmac & Asphalt
- Area
- 160 m²
- On site
- 3 days
The Brief
A long, sweeping drive with a worn and potholed surface that needed to take daily traffic from two cars and a van.
What We Did
- Planed off the failed surface and repaired the base
- Machine-laid hot asphalt and roller-compacted it
- Set new concrete kerb edging along both sides
The old drive was full of potholes and the van was making it worse. They planed it off, relaid it and had the whole thing done in three days. It looks brand new and the edging is dead straight.
